When it comes to removing unwanted fat pads and bulges, Chicagoans have several options to get the results they want. Liposuction has been a mainstay in aesthetic surgery to get rid of pesky fat that diet and exercise simply can’t eliminate. But over the past few years, minimally-invasive technology has taken cosmetic medicine by storm. The prospect of achieving transformative results without the downtime of surgery is appealing to many patients—but do these procedures work?

At Dreyfuss Plastic Surgery, we offer two proven body sculpting technologies that use different approaches but achieve excellent results. Bodytite and CoolSculpting are both worth considering if you’re looking to have 2020 bring you a sleeker, tighter body outline.

What is CoolSculpting?

This non-surgical treatment uses advanced fat freezing technology to target fat without affecting adjacent tissue. The procedure crystallizes fat cells, killing them and allowing your body to naturally flush them away. Once the fat cells are gone, they don’t return, so you can count on permanent changes.

What is BodyTite?

This minimally-invasive technology produces long-lasting body shaping results in a single session through radio-frequency assisted lipolysis or RFAL. It tightens skin as it reduces fat bulges that reside in those troubled spots that you just can’t seem to target with diet and exercise.

CoolSculpting vs. BodyTite

CoolSculpting and BodyTite both can rid the body of unwanted fat, but their approaches couldn’t be more different. BodyTite melts fat cells with radiofrequency and then sucks them from the treatment site, while CoolSculpting freezes the fat cells, allowing the body to flush them away naturally.

BodyTite is a minimally-invasive type of liposuction that requires mild sedation. Unwanted fat is extracted through tiny incisions; this is combined with radiofrequency treatment that stimulates collagen production and tightens the skin. The results are immediate and long-lasting, with most patients able to return to work after a day or two.

CoolSculpting uses the technology cryolipolysis to freeze fat cells until they die and break down. The results take up to three months to fully realize, but there is no downtime, and you can return to normal activities right away after your treatment.

Preferences

We are happy to help you decide between these two state-of-the-art transformative procedures. BodyTite is a safe, minimally-invasive form of liposuction that is highly effective in the removal of fat from those trouble spots. CoolSculpting is an ideal treatment for patients who want a non-invasive procedure with no incisions and no downtime. We work with all of our patients to develop a customized treatment plan to ensure that you meet your goals and get the body you want.
