Dermal fillers have a reputation as one of the best methods of wrinkle reduction and skin rejuvenation; typically made from substances natural to the body, dermal fillers offer long-lasting results with a simple series of injections. Dermal fillers are widely considered to be safe and reliable, and because they’re non-surgical, they require little to no downtime or recovery time.
While dermal fillers only take a few minutes to administer, their natural-looking results can last for months—even up to two years. Dermal fillers can do everything from restoring facial volume lost due to aging, to smoothing and softening deep facial creases.
Dreyfuss Plastic Surgery offers the most advanced dermal fillers, each with a different formula specifically designed to treat different signs of aging.
Juvéderm®’s family of injectable hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are used to correct moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles, like nasolabial folds (lines about the nose and mouth). One of the most versatile dermal fillers in the industry, Juvéderm® uses cross-linking technology to re-contour the cheeks, soften deep creases, and restore volume to the lips. Juvéderm® family of products includes:
Aging and genetics can contribute to some of the most tell-tale signs of aging: flattened, lackluster lips, and prominent lines around the mouth, also known as smoker’s lines. One of the newest injectables in Juvéderm®’s range of outstanding dermal fillers is Volbella® XC, which is hailed as one of the best products for smoothing wrinkles around the mouth and plumping the lips.
In addition to reducing two of the most frustrating facial flaws, Volbella®’s results can last for months while retaining a soft and subtle look. Volbella® offers natural-looking treatment for patients who want to avoid the lengthy recovery and extensive processes involved with other procedures.
This dermal filler is the first injectable approved by the FDA to effectively and safely restore lost volume to the cheeks. It is an excellent alternative to cosmetic surgery, especially if time is a factor. With little to no downtime, you should be able to resume regular activity within a day after treatment. Results are quick as well and can last up to two years.
This Juvéderm® product is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler designed to treat mild to moderate folds and wrinkles which appear in the lower region of the face. It is useful in treating marionette lines, as well as the lines along the chin and jawline.
Treatments are quick, sometimes only 15 minutes, with results lasting up to 18 months.
Restylane® is a gel formulation of hyaluronic acid which corrects moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles, including nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth) and marionette lines (lines from the edges of your mouth to the chin). Restylane® and Restylane® Silk are suitable for lip enhancement for patients 21 or older, formulated to provide definition and fullness to the upper or lower lip.
The injections are quick and easy, with results lasting from six to nine months.
Radiesse® (formerly Radiance) is a non-allergenic, non-toxic, biocompatible filler which reduces the appearance of folds and wrinkles around the nose and mouth and fills certain types of scars.
It is famous for long-lasting results with benefits lasting for two years or more. Radiesse® provides volume restoration and wrinkle reduction while stimulating collagen production for skin support and structure.
The Dermal Filler Procedure
We perform dermal filler injections at our state-of-the-art plastic surgery and medical spa facility. When required, we will use local anesthesia. Treatments generally take under an hour — some patients can even be on their way in as little as 15 minutes. Often, patients can return to their normal activities right after their surgery.
The procedure involves injecting the selected compound into the target area. The process can be broken down into three steps:
- Your injector may choose one or more points for each treatment area. Antiseptic will be applied.
- Your injector will calculate the correct amount of product for the procedure.
- An ultra-fine needle is used to deliver the filler under the surface of the skin. Injections are well tolerated.
How to Choose a Dermal Filler
When researching which dermal filler is right for you, it’s important to remember that not all products will work for everyone, and you may need a combination of injections to meet your needs.
It’s also just as important to choose the right person to do the job; selecting an experienced specialist to perform your treatment is the key to getting a comfortable treatment with the perfect results. Make sure you’re satisfied with the skill level of the professional performing your dermal filler procedure.
