Aging, genetics, and repeated facial movements can all contribute to some of the most tell-tale signs of aging: flattened, lackluster lips, and prominent lines around the mouth, also known as smoker’s lines. One of the newest injectables in Juvéderm’s line of outstanding dermal fillers is Juvéderm Volbella® XC, which is being hailed as one of the best solutions for smoothing out wrinkles around the mouth and plumping the lips. In addition to giving patients a chance to reduce two of the most frustrating facial flaws, Volbella’s results can endure for months while retaining a soft and subtle look. Volbella is a gentle, natural-looking treatment for patients who want to avoid the drastic recovery and overly-artificial results of other treatments.
How Volbella Works
Volbella is a smooth gel made up of hyaluronic acid that’s administered through injection. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that’s essential for moisturizing and nourishing the skin. Once it’s injected, Volbella’s smooth gel formula fills out the deep creases and lines that cause smoker’s lines, as well as increasing volume in the lips. Volbella’s unique formula comes from patented technology called VYCROSS®, which allows Juvéderm to have their smooth, long-lasting results. Juvéderm Volbella® XC itself has a customized formula that mixes different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, allowing its results to be as soft and natural as possible, while being sturdy enough to last for up to a year.
You should discuss your medical conditions with your doctor before the procedure; patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding or have a history of excessive scarring or hyperpigmentation might not be able to try Volbella.
Volbella contains lidocaine, a local painkiller, inside the solution to help with any discomfort the patient might feel. Volbella will be delivered using an incredibly small needle, which helps make the procedure as painless as possible. Patients can also use an ice pack to help with any discomfort.
Volbella is a nonsurgical procedure, so there is minimal downtime and a very low probability of side effects. It’s recommended that patients minimize strenuous exercise, excessive sun exposure, and drinking alcohol for 24 hours after the procedure.
